Ishvara is a fast, lively piece in 12/8. Structurally, it is based on the ratha path of Hindu Vedic chanting, from which its accents and arrangement are derived.
The piece is built around a main motif, which is reprised and modified throughout. The vocabulary is quite rudimental in parts, though there are hints of French repertoire and techniques as well.
Spanning five pages and taking around five and a half minutes to perform at tempo, it represents a significant technical challenge for the enthusiastic player.
